You don't watch Jeopardy? I thought everybody watched Trebek.

I have this theory that the reason the Bankees can't win anymore rings is because of Derek Jeter. He isn't consumed with the World Series anymore. He couldn't win a Gold Glove while A-Rod and Omar Visquel were playing shortstop, so he hired A-Rod to play 3rd and he exported Omar to the National League.
After he cleared out the competion he's winning Gold Glove awards like they're going out of style.

Just a theory though and all in fun. Hip Hip Jorge.

" Money don't buy rings."
Tell that to Steinbrenner.

You're exactly right, since the Bankees have been trying to buy the Series they have lost to the lowly Marlins and the Diamondbacks. Or they can't even get there. They stopped grooming their prospects and traded them away for chokers like A-Rod (biggest post-season choker since Barry) and Jeff Weaver(huge bust until last year)And that has been their problem. You can't buy chemistry. When the Bankees were winning the Series in the 90's, those players were home grown prospects. Those teams were great, but you had the right mix of superstars and role players. They don't have any role players now. Just the superstars. And they aren't winning rings.

Back in 2000 when George traded for Canseco just because the Red Sox wanted him, that was pretty classic. Jose and Cecil as your DH's. That's pretty stout right there.

And here is the reason of my theory about Jeter only wanting Gold Gloves. Jeter couldn't win one until he got rid of the competition.
1993 Omar Vizquel Seattle Mariners
1994 Omar Vizquel Cleveland Indians
1995 Omar Vizquel Cleveland Indians
1996 Omar Vizquel Cleveland Indians
1997 Omar Vizquel Cleveland Indians
1998 Omar Vizquel Cleveland Indians
1999 Omar Vizquel Cleveland Indians
2000 Omar Vizquel Cleveland Indians
2001 Omar Vizquel Cleveland Indians
2002 Alex Rodriguez Texas Rangers
2003 Alex Rodriguez Texas Rangers
2004 Derek Jeter New York Yankees
2005 Derek Jeter New York Yankees
2006 Derek Jeter New York Yankees
When did A-Rod start playing 3rd? Oh yeah, 2004.

Dude, I follow baseball. Like the earth follows the sun.

the Yanks, at least from the early '20s, have always been about spending money, and one of the primary reason in recent years for other teams spending money, and just one reason why baseball has generated so much interest (not the only reason of course), however, your argument that the team spending the most money should win the series every year is well shy of any logic, however, i respect your stance, if not the reason behind it, else back to my original point, the breakdown of first to last would be most money to least money and that is most certainly not the case
